Messahel on tour to Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia from Friday

ALGIERS- Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel will pay official visits to Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia, from 23 to 26 March, at the invitation of their counterparts from those three countries, said Wednesday
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
In these three countries, Messahel “will convey a message of friendship and respect from President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika to his Bulgarian, Serbian and Croatian counterparts,” said the communiqué.
Messahel’s visit to Bulgaria will be an opportunity to examine with his counterpart means to boost the high-level political dialogue and economic partnership between the two countries, added the statement.
It will be also an opportunity to assess relations between Algeria and the European Union, especially as Bulgaria is holding the rotating presidency of the European Union since January 2018.
During his visit to Bulgaria, the Foreign minister will sign several agreements on cooperation in the field of archives and on visa exemption for diplomatic or service passport holders, as well as between the two institutes of diplomatic and international relations.
In Belgrade, Messahel will hold discussions with his Serbian counterpart, on 24 March 2018, focusing on regional and international issues of common interest, as well as on economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation ahead of the 21th session of the joint commission, said the Ministry’s communiqué.
The two sides will also examine means to boost cooperation in the fields of environment, renewable energy, sustainable development, education, youth and sports, added the statement.
In Zagreb, the Foreign minister will discuss with his Croatian counterpart ways to strengthen cooperation, through mechanisms that would govern trade between Algeria and Croatia and facilitate the implementation of cooperation projects between the two countries.
Cooperation in the economic, trade, technical and cultural fields will be also at the centre of discussions between the two Foreign ministerst, said the communiqué.
