Gaid Salah receives Italia’s Defence Minister

ALGIERS-Deputy Minister for National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah on Monday received Italia’s Defence Minister, Elisabetta Trenta who is
on a visit to Algeria, said the Ministry in a communiqué.
“Deputy Minister for National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah held talks with Italy’s Defence Minister, Elisabetta Trenta on 25 February at the headquarters of the Defence Ministry. Trenta is accompanied by Army General, Enzo Vecciarelli Chief of Defence Staff, and a large delegation.”
After the official welcoming ceremony, the two sides held talks in the presence of the Force Commanders, General Officers of the National Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the ANP, and members of the delegation accompanying the Italian Minister of Defence.
“The discussions focused on the bilateral military cooperation, the ways to enhance it and the prospects of extending it to other areas of common interest,” said the source.
In this regard, the two sides expressed their “total satisfaction with the level of bilateral or multilateral cooperation, and reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen military cooperation.”
At the end of these talks, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts before the Italian Minister signed the Ministry’s Golden Book.
