Yousfi holds discussion with Danish Foreign Minister on industrial cooperation

ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mining Youcef Yousfi received Monday, in Algiers, Foreign Minister Anders Sameulsen of Denmark, with whom he discussed cooperation between the two countries,
raising the need to further extend and diversify it, the ministry said in a statement
Yousfi in the meeting with the Danish minister, who was accompanied by a businessmen delegation, outlined the potentials and the performances of the Algerian industry, citing the textile, cement, steel, mechanical, phosphate and pharmaceutical industries, the statement said.
The minister called for extending bilateral cooperation between Algerian and Danish companies, expressing his sector’s willingness to provide support to new Danish firms seeking to operate in Algeria.
Sameulsen said he was “happy to cooperate with a big country like Algeria,” expressing his country’s “wish to boost relations and economic partnerships with Algeria,” the statement stated.
The two sides said they are optimistic about the future of the economic relations between Algeria and Denmark.
At the end of the meeting, Yousfi told reporters that industrial partnership between the two countries has recorded a positive development, stressing “the need to diversify the bilateral cooperation.”
The Danish minister, for his part, said the discussions with the Algerian minister of Industry and Mining were “very rich and fruitful.”
Sameulsen underlined that his visit to Algeria is a fresh start for economic relations between the two countries, the statement concluded.
