Turkey seeks to raise investments, trading with Algeria to USD10 billion

ALGIERS- Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez affirmed Thursday, in Algiers, that his country seeks to raise the value of investments and trading with Algeria to USD10 billion.

In a statement to the press following his meeting with President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to whom he handed over a message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkye’s minister said that the value of “investments and trading between Algeria and Turkey is close to USD5 billion and we week to raise it to reach USD10 billion.”

“Our meeting with President Tebboune offered us the opportunity to present a comprehensive overview of our partnership and cooperation in energy, as part of the follow-up of the Algerian-Turkish Joint Committee,” said Donmez, adding that the President of the Republic “encouraged us to work for the deepening of our bilateral relations and strengthening of joint action opportunities.”

“We thank President Tebboune for his warm welcome,” he added.

The audience took place in the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, in the presence of Principal Private Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic Abdelaziz Khellaf and of Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, as well as Turkey’s ambassador to Algeria Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas.
