Sabri Boukadoum received, in Pretoria, by President Ramaphosa

PRETORIA- Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Boukadoum was received Tuesday, in Pretoria, by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

On a working visit to South Africa, Boukadoum “seized the opportunity of this audience to convey to his host the heartfelt and fraternal greetings of his brother President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, informing him of his strong commitment to strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries and to giving a fresh impetus to the bilateral cooperation,” said the source.

For his part, Ramaphosa “welcomed the quality of the historical and exceptional ties of solidarity, friendship and mutual support which have always marked the relations between the two brotherly peoples,” said the source.

He notably expressed “his willingness to work together with his brother Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the development of the bilateral cooperation in its political, security, economic and cultural dimensions for an optimal exploitation of the opportunities offered on both sides,” added the source.

“This audience was also an opportunity to broach regional and international issues of common interest, notably those related to security and development in Africa, and to express pleasure at the tradition of consultations at all levels and the convergence of views and positions of the two countries in regional and international fora,” said the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

In this respect, Boukadoum “ welcomed the enlightened leadership of South Africa at the head of the African Union (AU), and its tireless efforts for the promotion of peace and development initiatives at the continental level, despite the major constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic,” according to the source.

Algerian Foreign minister “congratulated South Africa for its precious contribution during its term as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, in the service of peace, stability and fair causes in Africa and the world.”
