Qatar Food & Hospitality Show 2019: Algerian, Qatari businessmen consider partnership opportunities

DOHA (Qatar) – The Algerian economic operators, participating in the Qatar Food & Hospitality Show 2019, have held on Wednesday in Doha B-to-B meetings with their Qatari counterparts,
in the presence of Trade Minister Saïd Djellab. The meetings were centred on the partnership and investment opportunities in both countries.
Speaking at the opening of those meetings, the Minister said that the Qatari market is so important for the Algerian product, as it allows the access to Asian markets.
In addition to its strategy of turning to the African markets, Algeria is also working to broaden its export prospects to other countries of the world.
These B to B meetings were marked by important consultations between the Algerian and Qatari economic operators, which examined questions relating to transport costs, working conditions, the required production and services quality.
On the sidelines of these meetings, an agreement has been concluded by Algerian company for agricultural product packaging and labeling “Afridat” and a Qatari company of dates “Al Wadjba Dates Factory”.
“We take this opportunity to develop this Algerian product and enter other markets, through the State of Qatar. We look to promote the Algerian production and boost export,” added General Manager of “Afridat”, khiredine El Mouaz.
General Manager of « Al Wadjba Dates Factory, » Hamed Rached, as for him said that this important partnership is likely to diversify the products proposed by the Company, by adding the date variety Deglet Nour to the marketed products.
The Qatari official welcomed the superior quality of the Algerian date Deglet Nour, rich with its unique honey-like taste.
A film on the natural and economic assets was projected, highlighting the investment opportunities offered in Algeria.
