ALGIERS-Minister of National Planning, Tourism and Craft Industry Abdelwahab Nouri affirmed Monday in Algiers that 550 tourist projects out of the 1,600 approved by the ministry are being implemented nationwide.
At the end of his inspection visit to the province of Algiers, Nouri stressed that “over 550 tourist projects (hotels, resorts and tourist villages) are being implemented,” adding that “the development of tourism requires private investment in this field.”
He recalled that 54 projects out of the 180 approved by the ministry are being implemented in Algiers, stressing that the tourism sector witnesses “a significant leap” in this province thanks to the large investments of economic operators in this sector.
These large projects like the tourist village project in Sidi Fredj entrusted to “Emiral” and the “Trust” resort in Bab Ezzouar will strengthen the hotel sector after their completion in late 2018 (Emiral) and on 5 July 2017 (Trust) with 2,400 additional beds.
The Emirati group (Emiral) donated to the province of Algiers a real estate project in the municipality of Cheraga made up of 400 housing units, 44 commercial buildings and 48 offices, which will be delivered in six months, according to CEO of the group.
The Trust resort is composed of 11 projects including 5 high standing hotels (5 and 6 stars). The largest part of this project (three hotels) will be completed on 5 July 2017, said CEO of the group Ghazi Abou Nahl.
In order to encourage private investors and allow them contribute to the development of tourism in the capital city, the minister seized the opportunity of his inspection visit to the province of Algiers to inaugurate two hotels, namely “Rami” hotel (3 stars) in the province of Bab El Oued, and Laziz hotel (4 stars) in Kouba, in addition to a restaurant named “Les Sept Temps” in the municipality of Dely Ibrahim.
