Lamamra takes part in 32nd Summit of African Peer Review Mechanism

ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra, in his capacity as representative of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, took part on Thursday in the 32nd Summit
of African Peer Review Mechanism whose works were held by videoconference, the ministry said in a statement.

This summit, held under the chairmanship of Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, in preparation of the 36th Conference of AU Heads of State and Government scheduled for 18-19 February in Addis Ababa, culminated in the adoption of several documents, including the annual report on the state of the governance in Africa, according to the source.

In his speech, Lamamra emphasized Algeria’s commitment to the objectives of the African architecture of Governance, underscoring its contribution to the promotion of the stability, development and the well-being of the African peoples.

In this regard, he said that the African Peer Review Mechanism, which celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of its launch, has recorded many successes predisposing it to assume a key role in the implementation of the 2063 continental agenda.

In this respect, he expressed President Tebboune’s satisfaction at the increasing voluntary entry of the African countries into the African Peer Review Mechanism, bringing it closer to the universality, as well as the progress underlined by the reports on Niger and Djibouti, said the source.
