Lamamra receives State Secretary of Norway’s FM

ALGIERS-The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra received the State Secretary of Norway’s Foreign Ministry, Erling Rimestad,
said Thursday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
“On this occasion, the two officials welcomed bilateral relations between Algeria and Norway and the promising prospects for their enhancement and diversification in the areas of energy, higher education, transport, and public works,” said the statement.
“They also welcomed the great convergence of the positions of the two countries on regional and international issues of common interest,” the same source continues.
In this regard, Rimestad “congratulated Algeria on the initiative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to unify the Palestinian ranks, which resulted in the signing of the “Algiers Declaration” for reconciliation and inter-Palestinian unity.”
“It is an important step in the path towards the resolution of the Palestinian issue and the establishment of lasting peace in the Middle East,” said the source.
“This audience came in the wake of the extended working session co-chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Amar Belani, and the Norwegian Secretary of State. It was an opportunity to focus on the various areas of the Algeria-Norway partnership,” said the statement.
