APS : Saturday, 09 April 2016
WASHINGTON (U.S.A)- A delegation of Algerian economic operators will be in California from April 10 to 16 to examine partnership opportunities with American companies in the food-processing industry sector.
Organized by the US-Algerian Business Council (USABC), the Filaha Foundation and the Kings County Economic Development Corporation in California, the study’s mission aims at benefiting from the American experience in the food-processing industry, in order to build partnerships in this strategic sector for Algeria, USABC president Smail Chikhoune told APS.
The goal of this trip is to promote investment between the two countries, said Chikhoune. The first mission, organized last year, resulted in the conclusion of a joint-venture between Lacheb group and the American consortium American International agriculture Group (AIAG), for the creation of a breeding farm of 20,000 dairy cows, he recalled.
Chikhoune said that this mission will help Algerian operators to benefit from the American experience in the food-processing industry based on the intensification, agricultural specialization and control of the entire food chain which includes research, production, transformation and distribution.
