ALGIERS- A business forum between the Business Managers Forum (FCE) and about fifty companies from the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) kicked off Wednesday in Algiers.
Chaired by Ali Haddad, FCE’s head, and Pierre Gattaz, MEDEF’s president, this meeting will focus on four themes namely: digital technology, renewable energies, public-private partnership and subcontracting.
“It is MEDEF’s most important delegation in Algeria. It shows the importance attached by our private sector to the economic cooperation with Algeria,” according to Gattaz.
“We have come to try to implement three important actions: promoting the talents that we share, strengthening the partnership between our business communities and giving the priority to youth and entrepreneurship,” he underlined.
He dubbed “strong and rich” the Algerian Diaspora in France to build the two countries’ future, calling to exploit the big changes in the world as energy transformation, digital revolution and migratory developments to jointly take up the challenges in terms of growth and employment.
For his part, Haddad called for a “strategic alliance with France notably in the fields of energy, including renewable energies, petrochemistry, metallurgical industry, agriculture, agribusiness, health, pharmaceutical industry and digital industry.
According to him, such an alliance can constitute the basis of North-South cooperation.
On this occasion, Haddad welcomed the reformed approach of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika who put an end to the discrimination between the public and private sectors, allowing the emergence of an “Algerian competitive private sector.”
