Congolese Interior Minister hails Algerian Civil Protection’s role in strengthening cooperation in training

ALGIERS- Congolese Minister of Interior Raymond Zephirin Mboulou, who is on a visit to Algeria, hailed Thursday, in Algiers,
the role of the Algerian Civil Protection in the strengthening of the cooperation between the institutions of the two countries in training.
During his meeting with the Director General of the Civil Protection Mustapha El Habiri and representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, the Congolese official broached “the role of the Algerian Civil Protection in strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ institutions in terms of training, in the field of the management of common and major risks,” according to a communiqué of the General Directorate of Civil Protection.
Mboulou who said to be “marvelled” at the high-level of technicality achieved by the Algerian Civil Protection in mastering the latest generation technologies,” also hailed “the Algerian Civil Protection’s experience in interventions abroad following the major disasters, making from it an example to follow at the regional and international levels.”
While visiting the National School of Civil Protection in Bordj el Bahri (Algiers), the Congolese minister attended a presentation on the missions, organization and the different phases which marked the Algerian Civil Protection in terms of human resources training, modernisation, local actions, awareness campaigns and the use of technological means in the management of risks, such as satellite imagery.
The Congolese minister said that his visit to Algeria aimed at “strengthening the fields of cooperation between the two countries’ civil protection bodies and benefiting from the Algerian expertise in this field.”
For his part, El Habiri underlined “the Algerian Civil Protection’s willingness to provide the officers of the Congolese civil protection with training in different specialities,” concluded the source.
