Boukadoum begins a working visit to Niger

ALGIERS- Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum, envoy of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune began a working visit to the Republic of Niger on Monday, said a statement from the ministry.
Boukadoum arrived in Niamey coming from Mali’s Bamako.
Boukadoum was greeted by President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou to whom “he transmitted the greetings of his brother, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”
He also reiterated Algeria’s determination to reinforce cooperation relations and political consultation between the two countries on common interest questions, particularly in Mali and Libya, as well as other challenges facing the region.”
During this meeting, Niger’s president reaffirmed “his country’s attachment to cooperation relations with Algeria.”
Issoufou hailed the fruitful bilateral cooperation in several areas, expressing his willingness to strengthen cooperation in the economic field in particular, by taking advantage of the structuring projects in the region, as well as in the security field.”
In this regard, President Issoufou expressed “his deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Algeria and to President Tebboune for Algeria’s constant solidarity with Niger, particularly in the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic and natural disasters”.
The top Algerian diplomat also met Nigerien Prime Minister Briji Rafini and Speaker of Niger National Assembly Ousseini Tinni, with whom he discussed “the ways and means of strengthening cooperation opportunities.”
