Bensalah to represent President Bouteflika at OIC Summit on Palestine

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has designed the Speaker of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament), Abdelkader Bensalah, to represent him at the extraordinary summit
of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take place in Turkey’s Istanbul on Friday, following the recent developments in Palestine, said Wednesday the Presidency of the Republic in a communiqué.
“In response to the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey and current president of OIC, His Excellency Mr. President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has designated the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Abdelkader Bensalah, to represent him at the OIC extraordinary summit, scheduled for Friday 18 May 2018 in Istanbul. The meeting will be devoted to the recent serious developments in Palestine,” said the communiqué.
Bensalah will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
