Algerian-Namibian cooperation in industry, mining reviewed

ALGIERS- The industrial and mining partnership opportunities were the main the focus of the discussions held Monday, in Algiers, between Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam Bouchouareb
and Namibian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah, according to a ministerial communiqué.
During this audience, the two sides welcomed the quality of bilateral and cooperation relations reflecting the quality of the historical ties between Algeria and Namibia, said the communiqué.
On this occasion, Bouchouareb expressed his wish to see the economic cooperation between the two countries raised to the level of the political relations for the interest of both countries.
In this regard, he said that the “two sides will explore industrial partnership opportunities particularly in the mining sector, for which the Algerian-Namibian cooperation can be a privileged field,” said the source.
For her part, Nandi Ndaitwah underlined that her visit to Algeria is part of the strengthening of the cooperation at the political and economic levels , and which will experience an expansion with the forthcoming opening of a diplomatic representation of Namibia in Algiers, which will allow strengthening this cooperation notably in the economic field.
Nandi Ndaitwah said that during the African Union Summit it was decided that 25% of the natural resources will be locally exploited to provide added value.

For this purpose, Namibia which has mining resources as Algeria can benefit from the Algerian expertise in this field.
