AMMAN- The 8th Algerian-Jordanian Joint Commission, scheduled on January 15-17, will be marked by a strong political willingness to boost the economic and commercial relations, in the best interests of both countries.
This meeting will give companies from both countries the opportunity to define the areas of industrial partnership and joint investment.
The possibilities of exporting Algerian products to the Jordanian market and those of the Middle East will be also considered, said the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI).
The CACI has announced the holding of an Algerian-Jordanian economic forum on the sidelines of the 8th Joint Commission, re-launched after an 11-year suspension, following Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel’s visit to Amman last August.
The economic relations between Algeria and Jordan have had some problems which have impacted on trade between the two countries.
At the Algerian-Jordanian businessmen forum, held last September in Amman, the Head of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), Mohamed Laid Benamor had stressed the readiness of Algeria to forge genuine economic and trade partnership with Jordan, as part of a win-win approach, adding that the investment could not be unilateral.
The CACI aims at intensifying and developing economic exchanges, he said, saying that Algeria insists that all partnership projects are mutually beneficial.
