Algerian, Hungarian chambers of commerce ink two cooperation agreements

ALGIERS- Two cooperation agreements were signed Sunday in Algiers between the Algerian and Hungarian chambers of commerce, at the end of a business meeting between operators from the two countries.
The first agreement was signed between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and its Hungarian counterpart, while the second was inked between Algiers-Mesghenna Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Budapest Chamber of Commerce.
The two agreements aim mainly at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in sectors with huge investment opportunities but which are still unexploited to date, said CACI vice president Riad Amor during the business meeting, which was attended by Hungary’s Ambassador Helga Katalin Pritz.
Amor said that the agreements are in line with the long-standing partnership between Algeria and Hungary, dating back to the 70s and 80s.
For her part, Pritz hailed Algerian government’s efforts to ensure an appropriate business climate for investors, and recalled the setting-up of an Algerian-Hungarian Joint Partnership and Cooperation Committee, which in charge of paving the way for the economic players of the two countries to build a win-win partnership.
In this regard, she recalled the opening of Algiers-Budapest direct air service in September.
For his part, the vice president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and president of Budapest Chamber of Commerce, Zoltan Kiss underlined the need to strengthen partnership actions in the sectors of energy, industry, information and communication technologies, construction, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, food processing, environment and waste treatment.
