Algeria-UAE Joint Committee to expand economic cooperation

ALGIERS – The Algerian-Emirati relations are set to expand thanks to the signing of several agreements of cooperation, during the 14thAlgerian-Emirati Joint Committee, on 17 – 18 September in Algiers.
During this meeting, the economic relations between the two countries will be evaluated.
Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel and United Arab Emirates’ minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori will co-chair on Monday the 14th session of the Joint Committee, which will examine the opportunities for intensifying and broadening the bilateral relations, in the best interests of the two countries, under the guidelines of the Presidents of two states, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed al Nahyan.
Algeria and the UAE aim to raise the value of their investments to nearly $ 20 billion in the medium term, officials in both countries say, through boosting export opportunities for both countries.
Algeria can serve for the UAE as a bridge to Africa and Europe and the UAE as a bridge to the Asian markets for Algeria.
More than 200 Algerian companies are activating in the UAE in several sectors, such as services, real estate, commerce, transport, and logistics, while more than 15 Emirati companies are operating in Algeria, according to the latest figures provided at the 13th session of the Algerian-Emirati High Joint Committee held in Abu Dhabi in 2016.
