Algeria-Jordan: Total willingness to forge industrial partnership

ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mines, Youcef Yousfi and Jordanian counterpart Yaarab Al Qodaat expressed Tuesday in Algiers the two countries’ total willingness to develop the economic cooperation and their commitment to forge an effective economic partnership in various sectors.
This willingness has been expressed during the Algerian-Jordanian Business which saw the participation of up to 250 Algerian company bosses activating in food processing industry, the pharmaceutical industry and the electronic industry besides 40 representatives of economic companies from Jordan.
Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Yousfi said that the Algerian and Jordanian governments work to create a favourable climate for investors and remove the difficulties that hinder investments in both countries.
“We aspire to further reinforce the industrial partnership, notably through an appropriate legal framework which is the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2006, in a view to boosting the bilateral investment as well as the cooperation agreement on metrology,” added the minister.
Underlining the variety of the bilateral cooperation fields notably the economic fields, Yousfi voiced Algeria’s readiness to reinvigorate a strong industrial partnership in various sectors, like the pharmaceutical industry, the manufacturing industry and subcontracting.
Today, Algeria eyes increasing the volume of foreign investments, notably in the industrial activity, mines and agriculture in a view to diversify its economy, recalled Yousfi.
Algeria possesses a promising market by its strong demand and natural potentials that allow it to create industrial activities aimed at exporting to the African markets and the European market.
