Algeria, haven for peace and development in region
APS : Saturday, 24 March 2018
BELGRADE-Serbia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said Saturday in Belgrade that Algeria “is a haven for peace and development in the region thanks to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s clear-sightedness and leadership.”
Speaking during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, who is on a visit to Serbia, Dacic said that “President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s reconciliation policy allowed Algeria to strengthen national cohesion and focus efforts on State’s development and construction.”
The Serbian FM made this statement while referring to the regional context marked by crisis and conflicts in Libya, Mali and the Sahel region, notably the proliferation of terrorist activities and organized crime.
In this connection, Dacic hailed Algeria’s efforts and experience in de-radicalization, the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, “which should inspire countries in difficulty or and those facing such challenges,” said Messahel.
