Algeria, China to engage in new five-year plan 2019-2023

BEIJING-Algeria and China on Wednesday agreed to take stock of the achievements made under the five-year plan 2014-2018 and to engage in a new five-year plan 2019-2023.
This willingness was expressed during talks between Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi under his official visit to China, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both ministers agreed to pursue consultation between both countries to implement projects underway.
Recalling the Algeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, decided by President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and his Chinese counterpart XI Jinping in 2014, both ministers welcomed the quality of relations between Algeria and China and the level achieved in the implementation of joint projects under the five-year plan 2014-2018.
The talks allowed both minister to exchange analysis and viewpoints on regional and international issues of common interest, notably situations of crisis and conflicts, combating terrorism and organized crime as well as the reform of the Security Council and International Governance Institutions.
They also agreed to deepen bilateral consultation in international forums.
Moreover, both officials sealed three agreements on political consultation, tourism and visa exemption for the holders of service and diplomatic passports.
Messahel’s visit is part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and China. It allowed both FMs assess bilateral cooperation and the prospects for their development.
On this occasion, Messahel congratulated the Chinese counterpart on the success of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum (CASCF) held in Beijing on 10 July.
