Algeria “determined” to continue efforts to help Libya overcome crisis

ALGIERS- Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Local Government and Spatial Planning Mohamed Amine Deramchi reaffirmed, on Tuesday in Algiers,
Algeria’s commitment to “continuing efforts to help Libya way out the crisis,” through dialogue, peaceful solutions and support for its security arrangements, with a view to restoring peace and stability in the country.
“Algeria is determined to continue its efforts to help Libya overcome this painful ordeal, through its diplomacy, advocating dialogue and peaceful solutions within the framework of respect for internal affairs, but also through support for the capabilities of its devices, so that security and stability can be soon achieved in the country,” said Deramchi.
Algeria, in the light of its painful experience during the dark decade, “is aware of the very harsh and unprecedented circumstances that Libya is currently experiencing,” particularly “the deterioration of the security situation in some areas, organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration,”
Deramchi expressed his wish to reach a “consensus on the future” and to identify a series of “concrete” measures to “establish solid security cooperation in both countries.
The same official reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to “intensify training sessions for the benefit of Libyan police units,” concluded the source.
