ALGIERS- Brazilian Minister for Foreign Relations, Aloysio Nunes Ferreira Filho on Monday in Algiers called for reinforcing the economic partnership and facilitating investments between Algeria and Brazil,
adding that the political relations between the two countries are “very harmonious.”
The visiting Brazilian minister held a working meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
For him, the political relations between the two countries are “very harmonious,” but it is necessary “to do more” at the economic level. The two parties need to diversify and deepen the relations between companies.
Ferreira Filho said that his visit to Algeria reflected the Brazilian government’s determination to maintain the “exceptional” relations between the two countries, as the two countries share fundamental principles, chiefly their attachment to the social aspect of the economic development and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
The minister who was a political exile during the 1970s in Algeria, said that he noticed “progress” in all areas. Algeria, according to him, is “increasingly present” in international affairs and its influence “expands”.
“Algeria has been a place of exile for me and for so many Brazilian comrades and liberation fighters from other countries,” he said.
The two countries ambition to “to be” facilitators and promoters of cooperation and peace in our regions,” stressed the Brazilian Minister.
