NEW YORK- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel deplores Saturday, in New York, the fact that the world is experiencing an unprecedented and multifaceted crisis.
“It is not without regret that we note that he world is still experiencing a multifaceted crisis of a rare intensity. A crisis that Antonio Guterres was completely right to warn against it,” he affirmed in his speech at general debate of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
In this regard, Messahel said that UN General Secretary underlined that the conflicts have worsened and that new dangers have emerged, that the global concerns about nuclear weapons have never been as strong since the Cold War, that the climate changes are evolving with a pace exceeding our responses, that the inequalities are increasing, that we are observing inacceptable human rights violations and that nationalism and xenophobia are becoming more intense.
“In an environment of an advanced and irreversible globalization, the seriousness of these colossal challenges, both old and new, are becoming more marked by the perverse effects of a lasting financial and economic crisis despite the timid rise of global economic growth,” he said.
