ALGIERS-Deputy Secretary General of Bundestag Ulrich Scholer stressed Tuesday the determination of this country to cooperate with Algeria in the training of students and executives, highlighting his interest in constitutionalizing obligation placed in members of the government
to answer the question of Algerian MPs.
In a meeting with president of the parliamentary friendship group between Algeria and Germany Ahmed Kharchi, Scholer stressed the “determination of Bundestag to cooperating with Algeria in the training of students and executives and highlighted his interest in constitutionalizing the obligation placed in members of the government to answer the question of Algerian MPs, a difficult measure to implement in his country.”
Kharchi discussed with the German official the recent constitutional revision and focused on the creation of the Higher Youth Council that aims at “reviving the role of youth in the political life.”
He also broached “the amendment compelling members of the government to answer the oral and written questions of MPs in a short time,” stating that “this measure strengthens the parliamentary action.”
Besides, Kharchi pleaded for “enriching parliamentary relations with Algeria and Germany through the exchange of visits and experiences to further promote them in all fields, mainly the economic, energy and military ones.”
The German delegation met with Secretary General of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House) Bachir Slimani and senior executives of the Lower House. Discussions “focused on parliamentary training and exchange of visits and experiences to strengthen relations between the two institutions.”
Ulrich Scholer had previously met with Speaker of the Lower House Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.
