For his part, the National Police Chief Major General Abdelghani Hamel underlined that, as part of the reforms undertaken by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the “Algerian police worked for the development, in an overall and integrated approach, of strategies aimed at contributing to the support of the international community’s actions in the fight against terrorism and the new emerging threats as well as illegal immigration.”
Major General Hamel, accompanied by a high-level delegation, as well as the Spanish Interior Minister seized this opportunity to reaffirm their willingness to strengthen police cooperation between the two countries, notably in the fields of cyber-criminality and forensic science.
