ALGIERS-President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Saturday expressed his “profound indignation following the attacks that targeted yesterday the French capital city,” dubbing them “true crime against humanity”, in a message to his French counterpart Francois Hollande.
“It is with shock and outrage that I learned of the cowardly attacks which have been perpetrated in Paris and caused a heavy death toll. This planned horror is a true crime against humanity,” President Bouteflika wrote in his message.
“Algeria strongly condemns these terrorist crimes that unfortunately prove, once again, that terrorism is a cross-border scourge,” the Head of State affirmed.
In the same regard, President of the Republic said that “this scourge requires a common reaction from the entire international community under the auspices of the United Nations, a reaction which also needs to be clear to avoid a worldwide and within countries civilizational split, which is one of the goals sought by terrorism sponsors.”
“In the face of this tragedy that has struck your friendly country, the French people, its government and you personally, can count on Algeria’s solidarity and support,” assured the Head of State in his message addressed to President Hollande.
“In this difficult circumstance, I extend, on behalf of the Algerian people, its government and on my own behalf, our deepest condolences to you and to the friendly French people, and offer to the families of victims all our sympathy,” the President stressed.
“I can assure you that the exceptional partnership we are building for the benefit of our two peoples, will also be mirrored in our joint efforts against terrorism that Algeria also fight to date,” President Bouteflika affirmed.
