Oran: 40 exhibitors at 2nd International exhibition of recycling and waste treatment

ORAN-Nearly 40 national and foreign exhibitors will take part in the 2nd International exhibition of recycling and waste treatment on 8-11 January at the Convention centre Mohamed Benahmed in Oran, organizers said Tuesday.
“Exhibitors from Korea Tunisia and Canada will partake in this annual event. Other foreign companies have been invited but have not confirmed their participation,” said Mohamed Fouad Ammar, Director of “SOS Events” agency, organizer of the event, told the press.
Professionals in the fields of sorting and recycling, managers of Landfill Centres (CET), specialists in the hospital waste treatment, operators in the maintenance of equipment for waste collection, transfer and recycling will attended this exhibition.
The exhibition aims to showcase domestic and foreign experiences in the fields of waste sorting and recycling and raise citizens’ awareness of the preservation of environment, said Ammar.
Moreover, students will visit the exhibition to raise their awareness of the importance of waste sorting.
Besides, Director of communication and marketing at the National Waste Agency (AND), Kahina Benhamadi said a study day on sustainable partnership for “Integrated waste management” will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Several topics will be discussed like the presentation of the Korean experience in waste management, electronic waste as well as the presentation of a national study on plastic recycling and exposés on projects initiated by the AND.
The same official said that 12 million tonnes of waste are generated each year nationwide with an average of 20 kg/day per citizen. She also reported the existence of 200 micro-enterprises countrywide operating in the field of environment, sorting and recycling, created under the employment mechanisms set up by the State, like ANSEJ and CNAC.
