Neighbouring countries hail in Cairo Algeria's efforts for resolution of Libya crisis

CAIRO- The final statement of the 10th ministerial meeting of Libya’s Neighbouring Countries, held Saturday in Cairo, hailed Algeria’s efforts and initiatives to encourage Libyan parties to engage in an inclusive dialogue and national reconciliation in order to reach a political solution.
The Foreign ministers of Libya’s neighbouring countries reaffirmed their support to the Presidential Council and invited its members to form a Government of National Accord, calling on the Libyan House of Representatives to recognize it so that it could fulfil its missions and address the political, security and economic challenges in Libya.
They also reiterated their determination to pursue their efforts to promote the political process in Libya and to foster the necessary conditions for the restoration of stability and security in the country, and expressed their rejection of a military solution, which would have disastrous implications on the security and stability in Libya and in neighbouring countries.
The works of the 10th ministerial meeting of Libya’s Neighbouring Countries was held Saturday in Egypt’s Cairo, with the participation of Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel and Foreign ministers of Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, and Niger, in addition to United Nations Envoy for Libya Martin Kobler, Arab League’s Secretary General Ahmed Abu al-Ghait and African Union Envoy for Libya Jakaya Kikwete, as well as representatives of international organizations.
