ALGIERS- Algeria has the role of leadership in Africa for its efforts in the settlement of conflicts said Tuesday, in Algiers, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
“We hail Algeria for its leadership, it has spared no effort for the settlement of disagreements and brings its support to the issues of decolonization and the peoples’ right to self-determination,” she stressed during the works of the Algerian-Namibian joint commission.
She said that “it is impossible to reach progress without reaching peace and stability,” adding that all the citizens of Africa must enjoy their right to self-determination.
“I would like to refer here to our joint position regarding the fight of the people of Western Sahara,” she explained.
For the Namibian minister, Algeria “has always had an important role in the fight against colonization and apartheid,” paying tribute to the deceased president Ahmed Ben Bella and to the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
