FREETOWN-Foreign Minister, Abdelkader Messahel held talks Saturday in Freetown with his counterpart from Sierra Leone, Alie Kabba, on the sidelines of his participation
in the ministerial meeting of the African Union (AU) Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government on the United Nations (UN) Security Council Reforms (C-10).
The talks focused on bilateral relations and the ways to strengthen them.
Hailing the quality of bilateral political ties, both FMs agreed to hold a session of the Joint Cooperation Committee in Algiers in Q1 2018 so as to “give a new impetus to bilateral relations and broaden them to new cooperation areas.”
The talks also focused on the reform of the UN Security Council and the activities of the AU Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government coordinated by Sierra Leone.
On this occasion, Messahel congratulated Kabba on “the perfect organization” of the Freetown ministerial meeting.
Both FMs also discussed other regional and international issues of common interest, including those on the AU’s agenda.
