ALGIERS- Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel on Sunday in Jeddah, held discussions with his Saudi counterpart Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, said Monday a communiqué of the Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the two ministers “welcomed the quality of the relations between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, of the regular consultation and the permanent coordination between both countries, in compliance with the directives by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” added the source.
The meeting “enabled the two ministers to review the state of the relations between the two countries, as well as the means for reinforcing them and expanding them at all levels, ahead of the coming meetings, notably the next session of the Algerian-Saudi Joint Commission.”
The encounter also focused on the regional and international questions of common interest.
The situations of crisis and conflicts that shake the Arab world “have also been discussed, chiefly the situations in the Gulf, Libya, Yemen and in Syria and the Palestinian as well.”
Messahel and Al-Jubeir “have exchanged views on the means that are likely to contribute boosting the Arab joint action, in the benefit of the stability and security in the Arab countries, by orienting it towards the main concerns that face the Arab States, notably the multiplication of tensions and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism,” concluded the communiqué.
