Messahel hands over message from President Bouteflika to Emir of Kuwait

ALGIERS- The Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel was received by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah, to whom he handed over “a message of friendship, esteem and consideration,” addressed to him by the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika said Monday, the ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
“Sheikh Sabah charged, for his part, Minister Messahel to convey to the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika his warm and fraternal greetings, as well as his wishes of progress to the Algerian people,” added the statement.
The audience focused on “the situation in the region, particularly the developments related to the crisis in the Gulf. In this regard, Messahel reiterated Algeria’s support to the facilitation efforts undertaken by the Emir of Kuwait for the settlement of this crisis,” underlined the source.
Messahel meets with Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah in Kuwait
ALGIERS- The minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel held discussions Sunday, with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said the ministry of foreign affairs in a communiqué.
Messahel, who arrived Sunday to Kuwait from Doha (Qatar), where he ended his working visit as part of his tour to the Arab world held discussions with his Kuwaiti counterpart, in which the two ministers “reviewed the bilateral relations as well as the ways to strengthen them and extend them to new sectors,” said the statement.
The meeting also focused on “the situation in the Gulf region where the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah takes on the facilitation of this crisis.”
On this issue, the two ministers “agreed on the importance of a negotiated solution in the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” noted the communiqué, adding that Messahel renewed “Algeria’s support to the efforts made by the Emir of Kuwait for the rapid settlement of the this crisis and to overcome the current disagreements.”
The two ministers, who also reviewed the crises and conflict situations in the Arab world particularly in Libya, Syria, and Yemen reiterated “the importance of dialogue and national reconciliation to end these crises while calling, in this regard, for a new boost to the joint Arab action through a reform of the Arab League in order to allow the Pan-Arab organization to adapt to the contemporary changes,” added the communiqué.
Messahel, bearer of a message from the president of the Republic “will be received by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah as well as the president of thMSHL2e Council of Ministers Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah,” said the ministry’s communiqué.
