Messahel discusses, in Addis Ababa, with Mauritanian counterpart

ADDIS ABABA- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel held Thursday, in Addis Ababa, talks with his Mauritanian counterpart Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in which they welcomed the quality of the
relations between the two countries and discussed ways to further strengthen them.
The talks, held on the sidelines of the 34th session of the African Union Executive Council, focused on the bilateral relations and “ways to strengthen them.”
In this regard, the two ministers welcomed “the quality of the relations between the two countries and the current momentum generated notably by the opening of a border crossing point between the two countries and the organization of the Algerian Product Fair in Nouakchott, an event that was very successful.”
The two ministers also broached other regional and international issues of common interest, notably the situation in the region and Maghreb and the security challenges in Western Sahara and Libya.
In this regard, they reiterated their commitment to the Maghreb building and to the revival of the activities of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU).
They also agreed to continue “consultations and political dialogue between the two countries on all the broached issues.”
