Libyan Red Crescent commends Algeria’s gesture of solidarity

ILLIZI – The Libyan Red Crescent on Wednesday commended Algeria’s gesture of solidarity with the Libyan people.
The head of the Libyan Red Crescent bureau in Ghadamès Abderrahmane Ahmed Hemane received the 100 tonne
aid at the crossing post.
In a statement to APS, he commended this gesture of solidarity as well as the “huge efforts made by Algeria, through its leadership and people, to the Libyan people to relieve their sufferings.”
The humanitarian aid is part s of the agreement concluded by the Algerian and Libyan Red Crescent Societies to reinforce ties of cooperation in various sectors.”
The humanitarian aid conveyed by the Algerian Red Crescent in application of President of Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s instructions is composed of foodstuffs, water, drugs and bedding articles).
The aid arrived Tuesday in In-Amenas airport. They were transported aboard 20 semi-trailers to Debdeb crossing post to be handed over to the Libyan Red Cross.
“This aid is intended for the Libyan populations living in the Libyan border region of Ghadames,” had said Chairwoman of the Algerian Red Crescent
Saida Benhabilès.
