(English) Lamamra, V. Muraleedharan discuss issues of common interest

ALGIERS-The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra met on Wednesday in Algiers with his Indian counterpart, Shri V. Muraleedharan, with whom he discussed issues of common interest,
including the development of bilateral relations.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, V. Muraleedharan told the press that he and his delegation held “productive discussions” with Minister Lamamra, stressing that they focused on “issues of common interest and bilateral concerns.
Both officials also assessed regional and bilateral issues.
India’s FM stressed he was convinced that India and Algeria had “strong and cordial relations.”
“These talks were an opportunity to understand the vision of the other” and “will help us to advance our relationship in an optimal way and promote our relations in trade and other sectors,” he said.
The two ministers discussed the holding of the next Algerian-Indian Joint Commission in New Delhi.
Earlier, India’s FM met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chakib Rachid Kaid. The discussions were then broadened to delegations from both countries.
