(English) Lamamra holds talks with Yemeni counterpart

ALGIERS- The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, held talks Sunday evening, in Algiers, with Yemeni counterpart Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak, who is on a working visit to Algeria,
the ministry said in a communiqué.
During their talks, the two officials “reviewed the two countries’ relations of brotherhood and cooperation, and ways to strengthen them.”
They also discussed “the main issue related to the Arab Summit scheduled on November 1-2, in Algiers,” added the statement.
In this regard, the Yemeni minister affirmed his country’s support for Algeria’s efforts to unify Arab countries and strengthen solidarity in their main issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
“These efforts will be crowned by the success of this summit, especially since all Arab countries are taking part in it and want, through this meeting, to meet the regional and international challenges,” added the Yemeni minister.
For his part, Lamamra reaffirmed Algeria’s constant solidarity with Yemen’s leadership and people and his aspiration to see this brotherly country overcome its ordeal, through the unity of its children and their adherence to the political process to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the crisis.
In a press briefing on the sidelines of the meeting, the Yemeni minister expressed his gratitude to Algeria for “its support for the legitimate government in Yemen.”
He also welcomed Algeria’s efforts to host the Arab Summit and ensure its success, saying that these efforts would help unify the Arab ranks.
He added that Yemen will participate in this crucial meeting with a “high-level delegation led by the head of the Presidential Leadership Council.”
