Investment opportunities in Algeria “abundant,” says Samuelsen

ALGIERS-Algeria offers “abundant” investment opportunities in various sectors that strongly interest Denmark, Danish FM Anders Samuelsens said Tuesday.
In a statement at the Algerian-Danish business forum, which he co-chaired with Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, Samuelsens expressed his country’s willingness to boost economic and trade relations with Algeria, which offers abundant investment opportunities in various sectors.”
The business forum is an opportunity to enhance economic and trade relations between the two countries, said the Danish FM.
Emphasizing “the large delegation of Danish companies” accompanying him in his three-day visit to Algeria, Samuelsen said that cooperation and exchanges between Algerian and Danish companies a “strong platform” to further develop bilateral economic relations.
In this regard, he stressed that Danish companies in Algeria in sectors like pharmaceutical industry, energy and transport sought to further develop their activities while those that have not yet settled in Algeria also want to invest in the country.
Speaking to Danish businessmen attending the forum, Samuelsen stated that the integration in the Algerian market required a decisive factor aimed at “indentify the right sector and the right partner.”
As regards the insulin production complex project under a partnership between Saidal and Novo Nordisk, whose foundation stone was laid Tuesday in Boufarik (province of Blida), the Danish official affirmed it would allow “a genuine technology transfer” and job creation, and will help Algeria meeting drug needs.
