ALGIERS- Head of State Abdelkader Bensalah received Thursday a United Nations delegation led by the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Mali and head of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Mahamat Saleh Annadif, who is on a working visit to Algeria at the invitation of Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
During the audience, Annadif conveyed to the head of State “the greetings of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and his recognition of Algeria’s role in the reconciliation between the Malian belligerents and its efforts, as head of the follow-up committee on the implementation of the peace and reconciliation agreement, which has been the outcome of Algiers process,” the statement said.
The head of State, for his part, expressed “his recognition and gratitude for the role of MINUSMA in the implementation of the peace and reconciliation agreement and in ensuring stability in Mali.”
Bensalah stressed “Algeria’s support of the efforts made for reconciliation between Malian belligerents and its commitment to helping the brother, neighboring country getting out of the crisis.”
