PARIS (France)- French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian said Monday, in Paris, that it is the responsibility of France and Algeria to work “together” in crisis resolution.
“We strongly believe that sharing of experiences and initiatives of operational exchange are essential to address crises on the regional level, including in Mali and Libya.
Algeria is a key partner and it is our responsibility to work together to resolve the crises undermining our environment’s stability and we are already working on such issues,” the French official said in a statement at the end of the works of the 5th session of the Algerian-French Joint Economic Committee (COMEFA) and the 4th session of the Algerian-French Strategic Dialogue.
“We talk about it very often, we have joint initiatives and we want to continue in this logic in line with the commitments made at the United Nations in relation to Mali and Libya in particular.”
Le Drian said that with the Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, “we have started to consider the launch a summit meeting for the two shores of the Mediterranean to join efforts for the development of the region.”
