ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel said Wednesday in Algiers that the fight against terrorism and cross-border organized crime also “requires” the encouragement of cooperation programmes at the bilateral,
regional and even international levels.
The minister voiced Algeria’s “readiness” to contribute to all the initiatives aiming at strengthening the “common fight” against those scourges.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel was speaking at the opening of the works of the first GCTF regional meeting on connection between transnational organized crime, terrorism, co-organized by Algeria and the Netherlands.
Messahel said that Algeria “deploys huge efforts to eradicate these scourges from its territory.”
He expressed the country’s readiness to contribute to “all the bilateral and regional initiatives, particularly in the Sahel-Saharan region and West Africa, for the fight against these threats that constitute huge threat to the security, stability, cohesion and development of our countries.”
