ALGIERS- An exhibition of Algerian products will be organized in Nigeria “during the second half of 2019,” in order to allow the Algerian operators to forge partnerships with their Nigerian counterparts,
a trade ministry official announced Monday in Algiers.
“A special exhibition of Algerian products will be organized in Nigeria in the second half of 2019. However, the exact date of the exhibition and the number of participants, have not yet been decided,” the director of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), Wahiba Bahloul, told APS on the sidelines of an information day on investment opportunities in Nigeria.
This information day is meant to provide an overview of the Nigerian market for the participants in the upcoming Nigerian Fair. Algeria ambitions to increase its hydrocarbon-minus exports to this country of 200 million inhabitants, Bahloul explained.
In this context, she recalled that Nigeria was a “very important” market for Algeria.
In 2018, the bilateral trade balance was in deficit for Algeria with imports worth $ 700,000 (against 1.9 million dollars in 2017) from Nigeria and Algerian exports worth $ 500,000 (against $ 300,000 in 2018) to the Africa’s largest oil producing country.
