ALGIERS-Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa held talks Wednesday in Algiers with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie, Regional Integration and Gabonese Abroad Pacome Moubelet Boubeya on bilateral
economic cooperation perspectives, particularly the energy sector, announced the Ministry in a communiqué.
Both ministers emphasized both countries’ willingness to strengthen their relations, diversify their economies and meet all necessary conditions to make them less hydrocarbon-dependent, said the source.
On this occasion, Boubeya expressed his country’s willingness to take advantage of the experience of Algeria, particularly in terms of access of populations to energy sources.
“Algeria’s experience in the management of hydrocarbons, electrification and gas penetration is a model. We seek to benefit from this experience to make energy accessible to everyone and to further develop our economies and industries,” stressed the communiqué.
Speaking on this occasion, Boutarfa reiterated his sector’s willingness to share its know-how with Gabon and further strengthen the exchange of experiences with African countries in general, adding that a bilateral experts committee will be set up to identify genuine cooperation projects and draw up a roadmap to implement them.
The minister emphasized on “President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s commitment to development in Africa and the promotion of the Africa genius,” stressing on the momentum achieved by Algeria in terms of access to energy. Boutarfa also focused on Algeria’s expertise in the management of hydrocarbon resources, total electrification, engineering, as well as study and development of electric and gas networks,” said the source.
The development of renewable energy associated with an industrial base bas has also been discussed during these talks.
