(English) Boukadoum received by Angola’s president in Luanda

ALGIERS-Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Boukadoum made a working visit to Angola on Wednesday and Thursday, during which he was received by President João Lourenço,
to whom handed over a message to President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.
As part of his working visit to Angola at the invitation of his counterpart, Antonio Tete, Minister of External Relations Boukadoum was received, in audience, by Angola’s President Joao Lourenço, to whom he conveyed “the warm congratulations of his brother, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his best wishes for health, happiness and personal well-being and more progress and prosperity to the country and the brotherly Angolan people,” said the source.
Boukadoum also assured the Angolan Head of State of “President Tebboune’s will to further consolidate the historical ties of friendship, fraternity and solidarity between the two countries, and to deepen political dialogue on important issues of common interest, in the service of peace, stability and economic and social development of the African continent,” said the communiqué.
President Laurenço expressed all the respect and esteem he holds for Algeria and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and asked the FM to convey to him “his heartfelt greetings and his willingness to forge a strategic partnership with Algeria for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly peoples.”
This audience was preceded by a working meeting between the two top diplomats who assessed bilateral cooperation and prospects for its development. In this regard, the two FMs agreed to hold the 5th session of the Bilateral Cooperation Commission as soon as the situation induced by the Covid-19 pandemic improves.”
In addition, the two officials focused on political and peace and security issues in Africa, particularly the situations prevailing respectively in Libya, Mali, Western Sahara, the Sahel and Central Africa regions, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The two FMs also welcomed the convergence of views and positions on all the issues and agreed to multiply consultations, in anticipation of the upcoming continental and international events, said the source.
