Bensalah emphasizes Algeria’s “pivotal” role in Mali crisis settlement

ALGIERS-During an audience he granted to Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Wednesday, Tiébilé Dramé, Head of State, Abdelkader Bensalah on emphasized Algeria’s “pivotal”
role in the crisis settlement process in Mali, the Presidency of the Republic said in a communiqué.
“The Head of State, Abdelkader Bensalah on Wedneday, 17 July 2019, received Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the brotherly country Mali, who carried a message from his Excellency Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, President of the Republic of Mali,” said the same source.
The audience was is an opportunity to focus on “Algeria’s pivotal role in reconciliation in Mali.”
The meeting also focused on “the historical and excellent relations between the two countries and the means of strengthening them in the service of the interests of the two brotherly peoples.”
Both officials welcomed “the convergence of views on various regional issues, including the situation in the Sahel-Saharan region, as well as African issues of interest to the two countries.”
