PARIS- Fifty Algerian companies are present at the 144th Paris’ International Food Exhibition to give more visibility to the Algerian products which are becoming
more and more attractive in terms of quality and competitive prices.
Accompanied by the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and supported by the Algerian Fairs and Exportation Company (SAFEX), the participating companies, most of which are private, exhibit to sell local products.
80% of the participation fees of Algerian companies, including stand rental and freight forwarding, were paid by the Special Export Promotion Fund (FSPE).
Olive oil, dates, couscous, canned food, natural beauty products, natural soap, handmade products, textiles, ceramics, artistic works and tapestry adorned the stands dedicated to Algeria.
The above-mentioned items were put in a pavilion entitled “Wealth of the world, lands of the Tropics.”
Hotel, Tourism and Thermalism Group (HTT) and the National Tourism Office took part in the exhibition with a view to promote touristic products, including adventure tourism and thermalism.
Visitors are much more interested in tourism and thermalism than in seaside, the stand’s manager told APS.
However, many other visitors showed interest in the works of painter Ouahnoune Cherrak Nadia depiciting a Kabyle pictorial style.
The exhibition saw the participation of another Algerian comapny called Morfi Savonnerie, the company received endorse from the National Youth Employment Support Agency (ANSEJ) to launch its business.
The company produces soaps devoted for the treatment of dermatological problems.
According to the director of the company, natural products are in great demand in France and Europe.
The president of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France (CACI-France), Ait Yala Kaci encouraged the participants and showed commitment to help them for a better participation in the different shows and fairs in France.
