PARIS- The French Assembly’s foreign affairs commission had adopted a week ago the bill, already adopted by the bill on the agreement between France and Algeria on the exchanges of young professionals,
said Tuesday the Assembly.
The Agreement was signed on 26 October 2015 in Paris, by former Foreign Ministers Laurent Fabius and Ramtane Lamamra, as part of the 3rd session of the Algerian-French Joint Economic Committee (Comefa).
The agreement is intended to encourage the exchanges of French and Algerian young professionals.
During the debate session chaired last Tuesday by Marielle de Sarnez (MoDem), the Rapporteur, Christophe Di Pompeo (La République en Marche), said that Algeria represents “promising market” for the French companies, recalling that 450 French companies are settled in Algeria, having 40,000 direct employees and 100,000 subcontracted labour.
He however added that the Agreement has a “relatively limited” duration as the contingent of the young professionals must not exceed 200 per year.
