Algerian craft industry captivates visitors of Madrid’s SITEV 2017

MADRID- The visitors of the International Fair of Tourism and Travel (SITEV 2017) of Madrid have shown an unparalleled interest for the Algerian handicrafts exhibited on this occasion.
The Algerian handicraft heritage presented in this international fair is noticeable by its “high quality and authenticity, making from it a highly coveted product.”
Leather craft, represented by the craftsman Nasreddine Samrouni (Algiers), is still attracting foreign customers who expressed “their astonishment at the quality of leather bags, entirely hand-made.”
Raquel who is a Spanish student in tourism and Marie, a French working in the sector of tourism, said they are “enthralled by the high quality of Algerian leather products,” adding that “these products can be a significant asset for the promotion of the destination Algeria.”
The stand of the painter decorator El Hadj Rabia Rachid who decorates bodies with henna in his own style, called “Moorish arabesque,” is always full with visitors who come to decorate their hands.
The Algerian desert is undoubtedly a dream for many foreigners met at Madrid’s SITEV. For Nunez Jaymen, a Spanish who runs a club of motorcycles “the Algerian desert is spectacular.”
In Salah, Timimoun, Golea and Hoggar are “exceptional and wonderful,” he said.
A Japanese couple said, when looking at leaflets of the Algerian desert, “they were impressed by this nature and the beauty of the landscapes.”
This destination “seems like a dream and we want to visit Algeria, that is why we come to gather information on this great country.”
The Algerian delegation participating in this 37th SITEV of Madrid which will wrap up on January 22 is determined to promote the destination Algeria.
