ALGIERS – Algeria has “strongly” condemned the deadly terrorist attacks that targeted Sunday worshippers in churches, citizens and foreign tourists in many hotels in Sri Lanka,
said the Foreign Ministry’s spokesman.
“We strongly condemn the deadly terrorist attacks which targeted, on Easter Sunday, worshippers in churches, citizens and foreign tourists in many hotels in Sri Lanka,” Abdelaziz Benali Cherif told APS.
He added that this “terrorist violence, that no cause can justify, infringes all the human and religious values, and challenges the international community on the urgent need to combine the efforts to elaborate an efficient approach for the fight against all the extremisms which feed violence and terrorism.”
“We express our sympathy with the families of all the victims as well as with the Sri Lankan people and government,” he said.
At least 228 people were killed in a series of explosions that hit churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Sunday, according to a report by Sri Lankan police that also reported 450 wounded.
