ALGIERS-Minister of Health Prof. Abderrahmane Benbouzid on Tuesday has supervised a shipment of 250,000 doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines and nearly 20 tonnes of essential medical equipment to Tunisia
in solidarity with the brotherly Tunisian people in the fight against the pandemic.
Two military aircraft loaded with 250,000 doses of vaccines against Covid 19 and nearly 20 tonnes of essential medical equipment took off from the air base of Boufarik to Tunisia.
The Minister of Health will travel to Tunisia to hand over this aid to his Tunisian counterpart.
The shipment of this aid, which comes under the instructions of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune and in coordination with the services of the Prime Minister, is part of “the constant solidarity of Algeria with Tunisia, a sister country, to which we are linked by “historical relations and good neighborliness,” said the minister.
It is also part of historical relations between the two countries and the two peoples, particularly in the “catastrophic” situation the Tunisian people is facing after the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Algeria “has always taken the lead in the delivery of this kind of aid and is willing to grant other aid as far as possible” to help sisterly countries and friends to overcome the global health crisis, said the minister who hailed the support of the Algerian Air Force to all solidarity initiatives.
